"Everyone  who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that thier deeds will be exposed" - John 3:20

There is the story in the bible about a man Jesus met in the synagogue. He was shriveled in one hand. Realizing that Jesus had intentions to heal this man, the Pharisees were looking for reasons to press charges against him. And so they asked: Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? I mean, no sense of compassion whatsoever, no empathy, just up in thier own head space, with thier own rules, laws and traditions. I love love how Jesus has the right response for everything. He went, something along the lines of; "If any of you has a sheep, and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not lift it up to take it out? How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!  Yo! Dang! [permit me to use two syllables this week lol].  I am sure the people right there at that moment, could almost hear a pin drop. Jesus is the real MVP for real. So we know for sure that there is no debate here as to if Jesus knew all about this man & his "shrivelness". We can consider this man to be  "a lost sheep that had fallen into a pit". Jesus said to the man; "Stretch out your hand". So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other" - Matthew 12:13 tells us for free lol.

Bear with me one moment. Let's back track, as I like to imagine things. Note that Jesus didn't go straight for his shriveled hand. Well, Jesus is a gentle man. Note that Jesus didn't say  "stretch out your shriveled hand" rather Jesus said "stretch out your hand".  So Imagine with me; if for shame, pride, ego or for whatever else, this man stretches out to Jesus the hand which had been whole? Maybe because he had certain caliber of friends amongst the crowd, or too many standing right there in their midst, who knew him not to be shriveled in one hand. What blown opportunity that would have been? Homeboy would have walked home that day with his baggage and "shriveleness"  and so would everyone else who knew him, back to thier normal lives. In another "healing" instance Jesus also said the below:

"On hearing this, Jesus told them. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners" - Mark 2:17

The first step to any "wholesome healing" is acknowledgement. Acknowledgement of one's own reality & sincere deep need for God. Appreciated, that it is difficult to be vulnerable in today's society. Difficult to be completely transparent about where we are at with our emotional needs, spiritual needs, physical needs as well as mental needs. The complexity of some cultures also contribute to this hoopla hoopla. And sadly "religious" organizations are not exempt from the contributing factor either. Many people hurting behind close doors, yet masking thier true reality in order to keep a good front and act like they have it all together.  Religious pride has never helped anyone. Ain't no acting like you got it together when we come to Jesus, friends. In fact, not until we expose what requires exposing,  do we truly become free from that thing.

Granted some learned behaviors take years to unlearn, but when it comes to having a deep connection with Christ, "naked" is the way to go. [I don't mean literally, I mean metaphorically speaking of course lol] My point is that, we can't be all eyes on others, hands around our egos and legs crossed over our reputation, and at the same time trying to heal all at once. You either need help or you don't. You either come correct, or you stay home. Likewise, when it comes to the struggle of sin in our lives we must expose them, unless Ofcourse we are in love with the evil that we do. Not my words at all. It's what it says in our focal scripture.

"The struggle is real, but so is our God" - Anon

People may talk, raise thier nose up, wag thier tails and all that Jazz, but at the end of the day there is nothing worth more than your peace of mind, sound mind & right standing with God. I hope that this week and beyond, whatever thing you need help with, that you are courageous enough to ask it from the right people. I hope that you are courageous enough to show someone every muddy well at your backyard needing "digging help" & brave enough to bring every dark patched spells to light. Jesus wants to heal you, like for real. And guess what? He not only wants to heal you but He also wants to make you whole! Isn't that just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G?! Sure bet it is. Please reject hide culture & all it's relatives, so that you can be set free!

Love,

SR
