Triggered, Because You've Got The Power ♡♡♡

"And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, "Are you the coming One, or do we look for another?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see. The blind see and the lame walk: the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me" - Matthew 11:2-6

I love John. Keeping it real down there in that prison cell lol. Like for real, Jesus are you the one or should we look for another? I mean we can judge John and wonder how a man who went around preaching the good news, who knew through the Holyspirit that Jesus was the son of God. He even saw the heavens opened and heard a loud voice affirming Jesus to be King for goodness sake LOL. Yet John the one who cried out in the wilderness all this time "repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" begins to ask very odd questions "Are you the one, or should we look for another?" LOL. The thing I love about the bible, is that these people are just as human as we are.

You see, John was in hard place in his life, suffering in the name of Jesus. He had been put in prison for upholding God's standard and for letting Herod know that his lifestyle wasn't the way to please God. But he wasn't able to reconcile his reality with what He knew about Jesus. Have you ever been in situations were you are like "God I just need you to come get me in your super man suit and wave a wand and show people that you are really in control' LOL. I bet John was having one of those moments. Like for real though - Why am I here when "You've got the power" in James Brown's voice LOL. But I love Jesus's response "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see. The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And BLESSED is he who is not offended because of me" POWOW POWOW. That last part though. Jesus's response to John's suffering in such a time of persecution, reminded me of the scripture that says :

'Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me" - Matt 5:11

Jesus is like, never the less the gospel is still being preached. People are being healed, the lame, the leper. You don't worry [Isn't this what we wanted, Isn't this the goal? our number one important priority?]. You are blessed when you suffer for my name sake. Don't get offended. That should give us a great perspective when we are going through hardship in the name of Christ. Jesus was not dismissive of what John was dealing with. Infact Jesus acknowledged what he was going through. Jesus wanted John to realise that even in his situation he didn't have to take offence. It's all part of the advancement of the Kingdom of God. So my dear friends here is an encouraging scripture for your week wherever and whatever it is that you are going through. It's a really popular one, so please don't treat it like you already know it. The word of God is life baby!

"Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever  would save  his life will lose it, but whoever  loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits  his soul? or what shall a man  give in return for his soul?" - Matt 16: 24-26

Very Very good question. Let us ponder on that!

Love.
