Not a Hoof & That's On Period! ♡♡♡
"But Moses said, "You must allow us to have sacrifices and burnt offerings to present to the Lord our God. Our livestock too must go with us; not a hoof is to be left behind. We have to use some of them in worshipping God, and until we get there we will not know what we are to use to worship the Lord" - Exodus 10: 25-26
My husband shared a story one time, about a trip his family had planned for his sister's wedding. They had set off to travel all the way to another city airport, where they'd be catching thier international flight to the wedding destination. Upon arriving the airport, his sister's friend realizes she had left her passport back at home, yikes. If you've ever been in this situation, boi you would truly appreciate how nerve racking this "hoopla moola" can be. You've packed everything else, including all the things you thought were important, but left the one thing that was the most important. Thankfully her brother was available and willing, to drive all the way from another city to give her the passport and the airline was also super kind enough to wait for her to get it and hop on. Friends, you know it never always ends like this. That whole situation would have ended up in premium tears lol.
My story may not be entirely related, but our focal scripture, brought that whole scenario to mind. Pharoah was negotiating with Moses, on what the Israelites could take along on thier trip to go worship God. Moses wasn't planning to take any chances. It was all or nothing. He needed everything locked "in". The whole lot, not even a single thing left behind. He was all too familiar, with that road God often calls us to walk very often.
" ......until we get there we will not know what we are to use to worship the Lord"
Pharoah was playing smart with God. At first he won't let the Israelites go with thier wives and children. After another plague, he then agrees that they could take their wives and children along, but then leave thier flocks and herds behind. Funny you Pharaoh, are you being serious right now?
"Then Pharoah summoned Moses and said, "Go, worship the Lord. Even your women and children may go with you; only leave your flocks and herds behind." - Verse 24.
To which Moses responds [today's lingo translation lol] - "Bruh not a hoof and that's on period". I don't know about you, but I really don't do great with uncertainties. I want to know everything. I mean where are we going? Who are we going to meet there? Ok, so when we get there, how many times do we need to cross that road? Give me all the details now, so I know what I am bringing to the table. So that I can be well planned and prepared. Our journey can seem like that sometimes. Though we know what to do now and what our lives are like today, we may not know what tomorrow holds and what our lives would be like next week. Moses was clear on this one thing though; God does not always "tell it all". What we are left with in our lives sometimes, are simple instructions. God will reveal more, when he thinks we need more. First Obey!
Question, would your "flocks and herds" show up too when you come before God? Do you only give a fraction of your heart or what's easier when you turn up before the King? Or are you always holding back some of your "sacrifices & burnt offerings"; putting before God whatever it is you like & not being fully submitted to Him?
Friends, because we do not know "all the time" on our life's journey, what the master may request of us, we must be willing to have "it all" on a spread before Him all of the time. Make up your mind that not a hoof of your heart, soul and mind will be left behind. And don't even negotiate with bandits.
"He answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, "love your neighbor as yourself" - Luke 10:27
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" - Matthew 6:21

This is loaded. Hmm π€ "God does not always "tell it all". ". Just come to Him with all that you got you never what He might require or request of thee.

ReplyDeleteThe statement, "do not negotiate with bandits" got me cracking up! π love it!
DeleteWe must be willing to have it all on spread before Him....We can't afford to not give God everything - because who loses out when we do? π€¦π½♀️ Willing obedience is what we see in Christ and what, as His followers, we ought to show before God .
