Weeping In Private Chambers ♡♡♡

"Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph hurried out and looked for a place to weep. He went into his private room and wept there" - Genesis 43:30

Have you ever been hurt before? That's like asking if you've ever cried right? bohoooo got ya lol. Hurting because of something that's your fault is one thing, but hurting because of a betrayal by the very people, who were meant to have your back; love and protect you, is a different ball game all together. There is an inspiring man in scripture [a foreshadow of Christ] who is all too familiar with that road. Let's glean from the story of an incredible champ, shall we?

"Weeping in private chambers" was the tale of a man in dazzling apparel. His name was Joseph. He was second in command in the whole of Egypt. The very "Don" who called the shots of "distribution" at a time when so many neighboring countries were starving, in a season of famine. This man broke down and bawled, as he made room in his heart to be reconciled back with his brothers. What in the world would make a man who appeared to have it all together fall apart?  Scripture says that "he hurried out to look for a place to weep". Can you relate? You have about had enough with keeping it together. The tears just need to get out. And those tears, really don't care who you are at that very moment, or what "bedazzling" outfit you are in. Sadly, it just really hurts so bad sometimes.

If I lived in that time, and was oblivious to what Joseph had been through his whole life, leading up to the palace, I would think he was living the liiiife yo! - From prison to palace, what could be better than that really? But you see Joseph's "flashbacks" were full of memories of betrayal. Betrayal from his brothers, selling him off as a "slave child", because they got insecure over a dream, that featured the Jacob boys and Dad bowing down to him. And just when he began to feel that things were picking up again where he was, he is accused of sexual harassment by a thirsty ol' lady [wife to his master Potiphar, who he had so faithfully served]. He is in prison, making the most of his situation. Leading the pack, shinning through it, encouraging inn mates, and maybe just maybe, this kind gesture to his "cup bearer" friend, who promises him a quick ticket out to freedom will be his "happily ever after"? err nope. He is banged up in there for another two years. What in the woot woot is wrong with the "human race"? Time had passed again and Joseph meets his brothers, but in different set of circumstances. Only this time, they are at his mercy - What a super story?!!!!!!

"But Joseph said to them, "Do not fear, for am I  in the place of God, As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. So do not fear: I will provide for you and your little ones" Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them" - Genesis 50:19-21

WOW! - What in the world makes a man able to respond in this way? Isn't this story all very much like the salvation story? "the stones that the builders rejected became the cornerstone" Amen. As you imagine, it took a lot to get Joseph's heart to where it got to eventually. In the end he saw all that happened to him through the "dazzling eyes of God" & not through a dazzling opportunity to pay his brother's back what they deserved. He was able to embrace and be reconciled to them. Although deeply hurt, they became beneficiaries of all that God had planned for Joseph, including a host of many others. In the same way, you & I have become beneficiaries of what Jesus did on the Cross. How cool is that eh?!

"Then He sent someone to Egypt ahead of them-Joseph, who was sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar. Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph's character" - Psalm 105: 17-19

"Although Joseph recognized his brothers, they did not recognize him" - Genesis 42:8

Tried & tested, sealed & delivered. Joseph was no longer the same man after all of his trials & through all that God tested him with. Are you staying "bunged up bitter" about life? Full of excuses? Playing "mini mini mani mo" on whose fault it is or what happened in your past? Or are you growing through your challenges, letting them shape and transform you into the very beautiful dazzling image of God? What difference does the word of God have in your life? Really, what difference has it made or is it making?

"Crying is better than laughing. It blotches the face but it scours the heart. Sages invest themselves in hurt and grieving. Fools waste thier lives in fun and games - Ecc 7:3-4

Wouldn't  you like to be -----> Tried, Tested, Sealed & Delivered? ♡♡♡
