Show - Stopper! ♡♡♡

"In my distress I called to the Lord, I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, my cry came before him, into his ears. The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook, they trembled because he was angry.." - Psalm 18:6-7

The psalmist called out to God in a time of distress. Anyone been in any kind of distress? I'm sure you have. Thankfully his cries never fell on deaf ears. Scripture tells us that from His temple, God heard the psalmist's voice and his tears came before Him and into His ears. Pause and think about that for a sec. Wow right?! so meticulously written and you bet for a reason.....

"...The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook, they trembled because God was angry. -

Wait what? God angry because of the psalmist's distress & tears?

"Smoke rose from his nostrils, consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind. He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him- the dark rain clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts lightning. The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them. The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, Lord, at the blast of breath from your nostrils. He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me" - Psalm 18:8-19

Wowowowowow, can someone please call the ambulance? I'm joking, but what a show-stopper God is. As if the psalmist wasn't already dealing with so much, in the day of his disaster? Still his ruthless enemies and powerful foes confronted him. And isn't that just how life can feel like sometimes?  Like you are in a game of Super Mario, conquering so many levels. Trying to save the princess & get her back to her castle. But there are annoying enemies along the way. Life can be like this too....

Got some great news for you though? Contrary to what you may think, God is not sitting there, adding the different variations of your "cry sounds" to His playlist. Believe it or not, it hits God differently too. God hears you. Your cries come before Him. It is not God's pleasure to see you trampled, but His great delight instead to see you rescued.

He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me"

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. - Psalm 56:8

Today wherever you are in life, be reminded of God's amazing love for you. May whatever it is, draw you close. It's just a bad day, not a bad life!

"He is jealous for me
Love's like a hurricane, I am tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me

And oh, how He loves us, oh
Oh how He loves us
How he loves us all..."
