Fearlessly Loved ♡♡♡
"We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgement, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in the world". Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first- 1 John 4:16-17
In the world we live in today, it is very easy to be insecure about everything and anything. Humanity's attempt to love by it's self, at best is fickle. I don't know about you but personally, my emotions can move very quickly from "feeling loved" one moment by the people in my life to "feeling unloved" the next. When that happens, it is very difficult to give my heart wholeheartedly. The first part of our focal scripture today reads "We know how much God loves us and we have put our trust in his love" Wosaaaaaah, Dang! [please pause and inhale that for a sec]. Do you know how much God loves you? Let me ask you one more time. Friend, do you understand the depth, height and measure of God's love for you?
Scripture says that "God is love, and ALL [not some, because no one is cancelled] who live in love, live in God and God lives in them. My God!!!!!!. God is the embodiment of love. He is love personified. His DNA is overflowing with love. Scripture says "And as we live in God, our love grows perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment" My God!!!!! - I'm done, ok goodbye, drops mic. Don't you just love the scriptures?
Fear, guilt, shame, insecurities and all of it's relatives, are very REAL things. We combat these things here in our world as we fight for the peace of mind that God gives and as we also fight to feel loved. God says to you that if you live in His love, you will be rooted, fearless and secure in Him. God is not your petty next door neighbor, playing yoyo with your life or like that grumpy Dad who has mood swings. Matt 5:45 "that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous". This is who God is. If it's in God's nature to be kind to even the unkind and the underserving, how much more those who genuinely seek after Him. Isn't this good news for your soul? Unanswered prayers sometimes, may also seem like a "personal attack thing" [God this thing appears personal lol], but God is always working things out for the good of those who love him in accordance with His plans and purposes " -[Romans 8:28] so you can rest confidently in His love still.
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know his love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the FULLNESS of God" - Ephesians 3: 14-19
What Incredible prayer right there. One to be held so dear and close to the heart. There is a popular saying where I come from, "what you are looking for in Sokoto is right in your shokoto" - In simple terms, "what you are looking for many miles away is right under your very nose". Friend, when shame, insecurity, fear, guilt, loneliness comes knocking, when you are feeling unloved and unable to love others, what you need is a deeper revelation and understanding of God's love for you. That love will then compel you to please God and to live right by Him. We love because he first loved us. We can only enjoy this love and share it in it's purest sense, when we ourselves have received it in every sense. "If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love" - 1 John 4:17b <------ what John said.
