It's All Cute, Until God ♡♡♡
"And Samuel told him, "Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord has anointed you king of Israel. And the Lord sent you on a mission and told you, 'Go and completely destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, until they are all dead. Why haven't you obeyed the Lord? Why did you rush for the plunder and do what was evil in the Lord's sight?" - 1 Samuel 15: 17-19
Saul was a man chosen to be king over the people of Israel. God had a plan to raise him up to lead his people. When Saul first met with prophet Samuel who was to anoint him king, he had some deep insecurities and understandably so. I mean, he never would have imagined God to call him out of a "small clan" to lead a people. You and I may relate to the feelings associated with being unworthy, inadequate and all things unqualified.
"Saul answered ,"But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?" 1 Samuel 9:21
Never minding the insecurities Saul had, or how small he saw himself. God begun his great work in the life of Saul, to distinguish him amongst the people. To equip him for his purposes. Scripture says "They ran and brought him out, and as he stood among the people, he was a head taller than any of the others. Samuel said to all the people, "Do you see the man the Lord has chosen? There is no one like him among all the people" - 1 Samuel 10:23-24. In the earlier years of Saul's life, God was strong and mighty in it. God stood by Saul and helped him fight great battles. God distinguished Saul and made him "taller" than the rest of the people. So what made Saul compromise in his walk with the Lord? What made Saul later walk in disobedience to God, who raised him up from amongst the people? It became obvious, that Saul lost sight of how God saw him. Saul began to seek validation from men.
"And Samuel told him, "Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord has anointed you king of Israel. - 1 Samuel 15:17
Saul stayed thinking little of himself. The insecurity thing might appear "cute" at first, but there comes a time in our lives, where God expects us to mature, stepping boldly into his plans and purposes for our lives. Thinking little of yourself, especially when God is calling you up higher, is false humility - When we are caught in a web of continuous sin, could it be that we are thinking so little of ourselves? When we are caught in a compromising situation or circumstances that cause us to act cowardly, could it because we are thinking so little of ourselves? When we would rather stay people pleasing, than submit to the authority of God's word, could it be because we are thinking little of ourselves? - "Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord has anointed you king of Israel.
God's desire for us is to mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ [Ephesians 4:11-13]. We do not start out our journey only to stay the same several years later. Though we may start out insecure, frightened, inadequate, fearful, timid. God's desire is for you and I to truly live out God's purposes fearlessly. There is a huge difference between pride in one's own abilities and confidence through God's abilities. When you have all of God's backing and prompting, It is no longer cute to play little.
"But you are a chosen generation , a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; - 1 Peter 2:9
Caught in a web of sin, insecurities, timidity or fear? Ask the Lord to open your eyes, that you may see how he sees you and not how men see you. It is a "seeing" problem.
Happy New Month!

Too sweet!!! ...Diapers and feeding bottles do look cute on toddlers, but look ridiculous, even downright disturbing on folks with a full set of teeth and chest hair. ๐ ...But thank God that He gives us the necessary GRACE to do what He asks of us in each season.๐ Thanks for this awesome piece, purple lady!
