BurglarProof Your Life ♡♡♡

"A thief has only one thing in mind-he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect -life in its fullness until you overflow!" - John 10:10 TPT

So, I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. There was a time as a growing child, it became a real thing for our parents to secure homes and properties. You either had a gate man, armed security officer, security dogs, burglarproof or barb wires. Infact some parents boldly owned guns. Why were all of these things necessary?  To protect thier homes and properties from ruthless armed robbers. These thieves had no chills. Even as I grew older, people invented many ways to secure thier properties. Need I tell you that the more they tried, the more these thieves found other ways to break into homes and cart away goods.

"A thief has only one thing in mind-he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect -life in its fullness until you overflow!" - John 10:10 TPT

Let's put that word "steal" in focus for a moment. Generally, you are a target for a thief only when you have something very tangible the thief values. Otherwise you are not that important. Leave your home opened, who cares? Nothing in there. The strategy here is to first steal, then slaughter and then destroy. Notice the order here?  The question then is steal what?  What exactly does this particular thief want from you? You guessed right: it's your joy.  When your joy is taken from you by any means, you become miserable, you become vulnerable. You become super easy to take out and then super easy to destroy. Do you see how it goes? Your joy" is valuable to the enemy, because stolen joy makes room for more lies; and then a lot more room to accomplish other "slaughter" missions in your life. So you see, just like my neighborhood growing up, we can't afford to live carefree lives. We must learn the art of catching the thief by his gimmicks. We must keep guard always; "burglarproof" our lives. We don't wait until the robber turns up, before realizing our need for a security guard. If the people in my neighborhood were proactive with securing thier homes from robbers, we can be proactive in this way with our hearts and life also :)

"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy" - Psalm 94:19 NIV

Another translation says "your soothing touch makes me happy". The psalmist confesses here, that it is God's comfort, touch, word that brings him consolation when anxiety is great within him. Feeding on Gods word, his promises is a way to guard our hearts from the fiery, crafty, deceitful arrow the enemy throws our way. Who by the way is also very good at telling a lot of lies. But very unlike the thief who steals, Jesus is not a robber, he desires to give instead :) More than you expect  scripture says. See the difference? Life in it's fullness until you overflow. Hallelluyah. So know and understand the difference when you are encumbered with a truckload of anxiety, sadness or a hint of "lowness". That has nothing to do with God. Infact Psalm 18 verse 8 says that God's precept gives joy to the heart. His commands are radiant, giving light to the eyes JUST WOW!!!!-  So when your joy begins to fade. Know the enemy for who he is "a thief" - joy stealer -  This is simply a call for you to "burglarproof" your life by the word of God. So do that & do it even on the days when you have joy still!!!!

  2. I totally concur my dear and amiable Writer - SR! Thanks for sharing this insightful writeup - indeed, the thief is only out to steal something of value and of importance - our JOY. "Generally, you are a target for a thief only when you have something very tangible the thief values. Otherwise you are not that important." God bless you for this. May we always guard the gate of our hearts and joy, AMEN.
