On A All Time High ♡♡♡

"But Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me." "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me" - Isaiah 49:14-16 NIV

Have you ever sat in wonder sometimes; reflecting over joyful events/moments in your life? You should try it sometime. It's a good way to joggle your memory. Could be the joy from starting a new job. The excitement about moving cities. Planned holiday bookings. Could be over past connections, that got set on fire after "first" few conversations. A Tug on your heart string; many wonderful things to say about each other. Excited about the future, and the "extra extra" mile you are willing/excited to go for your new found connection/friendship. With so many promises along the way, especially made in the all time high zone :)

Isn't it the case mostly, that at the start of everything seemingly beautiful, there is an all time high? So what then happens to the buzz over time for some? Time! Time happens and people forget. But hey, not God.....

".....Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me" Isaiah 49:14-16

Natalie Regoli put it rightly - "We forget God all the time, and we often fail to keep in mind those we are supposed to love in this world. We get distracted  and consumed with our own troubles and feelings. For this reason, we sometimes think that God is like us, distracted from us. We think because we have not been thinking about him, he has not been thinking about us, But God is not like us, he his perfectly faithful. God not only has a mind for us, but he also has a heart for us. He loves us and that is why he will not forget us"

Listen to what God says [paraphrase] "....is it possible that a mother forgets a baby at her breast and have no compassion for the child she has borne? This isn't a normal thing.....but even if she forgets, I will not forget you. And you know what's even more? See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands and your walls are ever before me" WOW!

God never fails to remember. He suffers not from a selective memory. He "chooses" to forget what should be forgotten and remembers that which ought to be remembered. Though he may discipline us for a moment, as should any loving parent, he never abandons us completely. God does not keep his love for us on a DL ---- "down low". His love for you and I, is always on a all time high. So though our memories may fade, God cannot forget what he has engraved. It is impossible. And even if your walls are as high as the cedar of Lebanon, those walls are still always before him.

Love
SR
