She Don't Gat A Man, But Who Cares...♡♡♡
"For God can do all things" - Luke 1:37
Not Mary telling the angel of God, what he already knew. Scripture says that Angel Gabriel was sent from God to Nazareth, a town in the country of Galilee to be precise. He went to a woman who had never had a man :) [NLV put's it like this]. Her name was Mary. She was now promised in marriage to a man named Joseph" - Luke 1:26-28. What an intro, don't you think? Very descriptive. The intentionality in this story of Mary, the mother of Jesus is mind blowing. One moment, she was on her way to go start a new life with her fiancรฉe Joseph, and in the next, she would be carrying in her womb, the saviour of the world. Wait what? Let that sink in.
The young maiden's life took a sudden turn. She had a praise moment--------> "He has taken rulers down from thier thrones. He has put those who are in a place that is not important to a place that is important. He has filled those who are hungry with good things. He has sent the rich people away with nothing. He has helped Israel His servant. This was done to remember His loving kindness" - Luke 1:52-54. NLV
Mary was here trying to live her life, and the angel of God creeps up on her. Scripture says "When she saw the angel, she was troubled at his words. She thought about what had been said. The angel said to her, "Mary, do not be afraid. You have found favor with God. See! you are to become a mother and have a Son. You are to give Him the name Jesus" - Luke 1:29-31. The angel tells her all the many great things her son will do and who he would be. How will this be possible? She asks. And she goes on to tell the angel of the Lord what he already knew ;)
Mary said to the angel, "How will this happen? I have never had a man." [Wow, he is so surprised, isn't he? Nope]. The angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come on you. The power of the Most High will cover you. The holy child you give birth to will be called the Son of God" - Luke 1: 34-35. I'm here thinking, wow this is "as simple as ABC" isn't it? although we know, from where we are standing. From a human perspective, it isn't always as simple as ABC. The great news here though, is that we are who we are and God is who He is :)
I chuckled once when I heard this african proverb-----> "we serve a God that can crack a palm kernel with an egg, just to disgrace a stone". Simply means, there is nothing impossible for God to do. For He can do ALL things.
Mary: "How will this happen? I have never had a man?"
Angel: "The Holy Spirit will come on you. The power of the most high will cover you..."
And that's on period, thank you :)
Love,
SR
