A Stunning Work Of Art ♡♡♡

"For we are His workmanship [His own master work], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which he set], so that we should walk in them [living the good life which he prearranged and made ready for us]" - Ephesians 2:10 AMP

The other day, I was sat in my weird mind space. Like, what would God have me do with my life at this current moment? I mean, I have done a few things here and there with it so far, but I was sat in myself pondering on the next thing to jump on. What are we doing God? I feel unemployed in your kingdom. Really what I was trying to say was that nothing grand was happening. Like nothing "huge" as far as my own carnal mind was thinking it. And then I had an impression in my heart - "If you are employed by me, tis not you who would tell me what you need to do for me. I am your employer, when there is work for you outside of the things you are doing right now, I will tell you at each point in time, so rest". I smiled, I got the message.

Our focal scripture says "for we are his workmanship [his own master work]...created in Christ Jesus....reborn, spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used for good works......which God prepared for us beforehand...taking paths which he set [Pause - WOW], so that we should work in them...living the good life he pre-arranged and made ready for us" - Beautiful beautiful scripture, don't you think? Well I thought it was, when I read it again this week.

Everyday we hit the floor, the people on our paths, whoever it is we have interactions with, our work life, community, our home, family, friends and even also down to the till operator at the local store - these are all pathways God set for us. We very often separate consciously or unconsciously what we call "spiritual things" from what we also like to call "secular things". Tis why sometimes, people can appear very different from who they are around "church folks"  from say for example when you meet them at work or at home or on a random day when all of that mask is pulled off.

I love the fact that the scripture highlights what happens when we are "created in Christ" - There is "tranformation", "renewal", "rebirth" & "newness'. Meaning, whatever former way of thinking we are used to, is now out the door, to live this new life in all of it's fullness. In the Kingdom, we do not hustle to find some kind of meaning, relevance or purpose in what we do or in anything outside of the purposes of God. We find it in God. We find our paths in being the "Masterpiece" we have been "made" and created to be in Christ Jesus. A stunning work of art. An intentionally crafted piece. Relevant to the pre-arranged purposes of God.

And so being and doing what the master has called us to do, is applicable to things that may seem mundane or even so little, in our every day living. The idea is to stay faithful, through each day we have been blessed with, the people in our lives, at work, through whatever comes our way, in the little, in the big, and in the seemingly small things. Sharing a piece of God here and there. Being image bearers, showcasing God in all of his goodness and his glory. Being and serving as part of a much bigger plan. This is it. God is too multidimensional and creative to be tied into the norms and systems of this world. God can be experienced in all of the details, even in the most tiniest of things. And if you ever need to be on the world stage, if it's his plan for your life, you can be sure He will lead you right into it.

But first understand that where you are, the people and things you are surrounded by, your work, the homeless person on your path, that gentleman at car wash. All of it and more, are no mere coincidence. I recognize that God has such great intentionality with our lives, I only need to remember this more often.  And I imagine some of you need to remember this too. So my friend, when next you see your neighbour on cute way broad street for example, add some purpose & intentionality to your morning greeting.

"Cease striving and know that I am God, i will be exalted above all nations" - Psalm 46:10

And ya, we back from a quick break, let's start churning these devos on Sundays !!! ;)
