Even In The Sunless Valley ♡♡♡

"Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me" - Psalm 23: 4 AMP

Earlier in the week, I was having a pleasant walk at a park near my home, when this little rascally dog starts to back towards my direction. I could see the owner immediately go on to tighten the leash, and in a sorry voice he let's out, "Common, would you stop that". As if to say, how can you be barking at her though?  All I could think about, as I walked along was childhood/growing up in Nigeria. How we would take to our heels, when there was a stranger dog in sight. But you see, on this day in the park, I didn't move an inch, instead I walked along with so much confidence. Well, apart from the fact that I was wondering why me? Out of the many people walking along in the park lol...

One, I understood fully where I was [go figure lol]. Two, the owner had his dog on a leash and he appeared in control of the situation. And three, it was a little rascally dog, and so I was err a little unbothered sigh. So as I continued in my thoughts, I couldn't help but reflect on how in this way, God also has "rascally dogs" on a leash. He created the universe and all there is in it, including what appears to be coming hard and fast at us. God has the power to hold in a leash. God has the power to let go off the leash. Whatever the case, what he chooses to do or not do, serves a purpose. Bottom line, God is a major owner of everything in our world, including rascally dogs. He also knows how to tame them too. It's why I loved meditating on this "pretty popular" portion of scripture this week. -

"Even though I walk through the sunless valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil.... - Psalm 23:4a JUST WOW!!!!!

Also at my Doctor's appointment this week, I had a nerve racking procedure I was booked in for. Haven done it before; understanding what was fully involved, bouts of fear flooded my heart from time to time, as I progressed in the week. So in my heart, although the doctor was not my friend at all in that very moment, it was a needful procedure that was required for my health and well-being. So on the day of the appointment,  as I waited patiently for him - [which by the way seemed like a lifetime in that room] - I thought about God, just like that Doctor, sometimes he appears not to be our friend, but one we will later be thankful for, after he's done the needful with us. Friends, this verse got me through that day. Thankfully the Scripture was part of my quiet time that morning, God had provided support :)

...........your rod [to protect] and your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me" -Psalm 23:4b

Walking in the consciousness of who God is, is a game changer. Knowing and believing Him to be in total control helps our heart walk through even seemingly hard things. Do you understand Him to be the God of the universe? Do you understand him to own all and every thing that is in it? Do you understand Him to be the strongest, the wisest and the most intelligent? This is the area of our heart we need to work on the most. It will give us better "eye view" of the chalenges that will surround us, and it will help us respond better to the difficulties that life will throw our way.

Essentially we must aim to be in continuous awe, adoration and submissive wonder to fully grasp mind soul and body, the truth that God is everything and that He is indeed always & in full control of any and everything! - Here is one of such adoring scriptures I also read this week, that left me in matchless wonder. I hope that you can intensify how you see God, what you think about Him, because it makes all the difference to how you live your life. And because such great knowledge helps us let go and indeed let God, no matter what it is.....

"Thus says the Lord. who gives the sun for light by day. And the fixed order of the moon and of the stars for light by night. Who stirs up the sea's roaring billows or stills the waves when they roar; The lord of hosts is His name" - Jeremiah 31:35 AMP

My, oh my!!!!!! - This may not hit you in the way that it hit me, but you can go find your mind blowing one. For me it was a thunder storm - teheeee

Love,

Shay
