Overblown Sense Of Importance ♡♡♡

"He has told you, O man what is good; And what the Lord require of you. Except to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), And walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?" - Micah 6:8 AMP

That last bit - woof. When I was studying over this week, in the same moment when I had asked "Lord, what really do you desire of us mankind? What makes you happy?" This scripture was part of my reading plan that morning. I love incredible moments like this, where God speaks back immediately. - "To be just, to love diligently, practise kindness, compassion. Walk humbly before God. Setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness" - God never calls us to do the things that he hasn't Himself already demonstrated through His son Jesus Christ. I admit that sometimes, I personally can fall short of some of these things. God chooses us, He loves us. He desires a wholesome relationship with us. And God also desires for us to be more and more like Him, as we journey and grow In Him.

I love the heart of God in the kind of people He calls us to be. Always a better version of ourselves and  wholesome expression of Himself. Improving who we are at out core, serving and looking outside of ourselves. Setting aside ego, self importance and self righteousness, in order to make room for his beautiful work in us, through us and also in the lives of others. So whilst I stew on this incredibly good thing God desires of us, and how I can continue to intentionally cultivate it and be better, I employ you to do the same. God never asks of us, any good thing He hasn't demonstrated in His son [Philippians 2: 5-11]. In this world, we can be like Him. We can pray to become more like Him. And no matter how many times we may fall short, He can pick us up back again, into the fight & commitment of being and living just as He is.

How are you walking humbly before God? How are you being just, kind, practising compassion? How are you setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self righteousness?

........God requires these things. He considers them to be GOOD

Love,
Shay
