The Ancient Of Days ♡♡♡

"I kept looking until thrones were set up. And the Ancient of Days (God) took His seat; His garment was white as snow And hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was flames of fire; It's wheels were a burning fire. A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him; A thousand thousands were attending Him, And ten thousand times ten thousand were standing before Him; The court was seated, And the books were opened." - Daniel 7:9-10

The book of Daniel is heavy with a lot of insights. I'll go back over and over again to soak it all in. This portion of scripture caught my attention in Daniel chapter 7. In Daniel's dreams and visions, he saw thrones set up and saw God take his seat, his garment white as snow and hair of his head like pure wool. "His throne was flames of fire, it's wheels were a burning fire.....". A thousand thousand were attending to him and ten thousand times ten thousand were standing before him.  WOW, I love drama, I love action. Yes, yes yes - so anytime I read anything about God that oozes authority and power, I am here for it. It's a reminder about who my heavenly father is. A reminder about who I am submitting my life to and an overwhelming sense of pride, confidence and safety washes over me. But also a sense of duty, because there is so much more to the life we live currently.

It's a privilege to be of God. God does not need us, we need him. He is good, all by himself. He needs no man to make him God. In God's hands is authority and power. I love how scripture says that when the thrones were set up "He took his seat" wow! No one said "hey God, here is your seat, you can now sit in it" nah. The Ancient of days took it, with his garment as white as snow and hair of his head like pure wool. I am really excited for the day we will behold the One who we worshipped in our dust to dust bodies. although I recognize, how humbling also that day will be, when we behold him face to face. Scripture says the court was seated and the books were opened before Him. Below, is a scripture that immediately comes to mind also.

"So if you are serious about living the new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. pursue the things over which christ presides. don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed by the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ -that's where the action is. See things from his perspective" - Colossians 3:1-2 MSG

I admit that I can sometimes get soaked into this current life, losing sight of the one to come. Scriptures like this "jack me back" to what's important. Daniel chapter 7 refers to God as the Ancient of Days. - He existed before time began. He is a supreme being. God is referred to as a judge. Whilst there are small courts, high courts, supreme courts in this present world we live in, there is an ultimate judge that rules and presides over the affairs of men. Personally, that resonates deeply within me. There is so much more to this present world. This world is more spiritual than we think it to be. We can't attempt to live it all, approaching everything with the natural mind. epic fail. As I was reminded, I wanted to remind you also that ten thousand times ten thousands will stand before the Ancient of days, the court will be seated and books will be opened before him. God's throne is flames of fire and it's wheels a burning fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ . On which side would you like to be? The conquered or the conquered for?
