Road Side Miracle ♡♡♡

"And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" And stopping, Jesus called them and said, "what do you want me to do for you?" They said to him, "Lord, let our eyes be" -Matthew 20:30-33 ESV

What are the odds eh?! Two blind men; sitting by the roadside, screaming at the top of their lungs - "Jesus Jesus, have mercy on us". Not sure how long they'd come day after day, to sit right there, hoping for a roadside miracle, or on some days not even hoping for anything at all. I imagine, the news about Jesus spreading so much like wildfire; these blind men had heard it too. If only they could get his attention, how would their current life situation change. These two had found great company in each other, but it was now time to take a leap of faith together.  Scripture says that when the two blind men heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out "Lord have mercy" - verse 20:31. As you can imagine, they'd also have to rely on their other senses, to know that Jesus was somewhat close. "Hearing" was all they got at that moment. It really only takes some or much of hearing, to set our faith right on fire. The two blind men knew this. Beautiful act of faith indeed, but it get's even better.

The Bible says that the crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent. Err not a friendly crowd, but life can be harsh in this way sometimes. Relentless and determined still - they cried out all the more - JUST WOW! - Who cares what the crowd thinks. The crowd will not dictate how personal we get with Jesus. Who cares how many times they'd been shut down; they'd both decided that staying silent was never going to be an option, where the miracle worker and the game changer was passing by. And Jesus Stops! *I got some goosebumps right there, I tell ya*. Jesus stops and calls them because Jesus is no respecter of crowds and naysayers. Jesus never jumps on trends and what not. Jesus is also here for the "least". "Lord have mercy on us" and indeed He did have mercy on them on that fateful day. "What do you want me to do for you?" Ha, I love how Jesus never assumes. For all we know, they could have been seeking ephemeral things . They asked - "Lord let our eyes be". - Matthew 20:30. Oh what focused duo!

Friend, may our eyes "truly be" indeed. May we never let naysayers keep us where they've always seen or known us to be. You see, sometimes people can get so used to seeing you in a certain way and at a certain place; they subconsciously or consciously zero you out of the great plans God has for your life.

"The Crowd: Guys stay blind where you at, Jesus has better things to do"

Jesus: Come closer boys, what would you have me do?" -

Please tell, who the greatest of all time is? :)

Thankfully Jesus never takes orders from humans, so you never have to worry about how any human being sees you. It's never up to them ok? Jesus is still very much in the business of "road side" miracles. Jesus is moved by persistent faith, humility & relentless strength that never gives up. The two blind men were not even part of the "crowd wagon", yet they positioned themselves for a roadside miracle still. So what is your excuse? Hold on to your faith, even from where you are at beloved!

                                                              Don't Give Up ♡♡

Love,

Shay
